HIGEHIRO – FIRST IMPRESSION

 

Well Hige o Soru. Soshite Joshi Kōsei o Hirou aka HigeHiro, is the newest romcom anime I’m simping to. It’s a spring/summer 2021 anime currently have aired 5 episodes, that I caught up with today. The anime follows, Yoshida, an average working adult who just got rejected(or was he?) by his crush Gotou, and found a runaway 17 year old girl, Sayu from Hokkaido, under a streetlight. She tries to seduce him to let him stay but my man is a CHAD, and thus protects his virginity. He lets Sayu stay in his apartment as long as she doesn’t seduce him and does household chores.

Unlike basic RomCom anime, that I’ve seen, HigeHiro is kind of more relatable to my adulthood rather than my teenage. It gives a different flavor which I really appreciate. As we go deep in the story every character has been portrayed three dimensionally with real world psychology especially the tsunderes, Mishima(the girl who works under Yoshida) and obviously Gotou(she has I cups for God’s sake). Sayu is one of the best portrayed anime girls in RomCom out there, like of all RomComs. Her charm, cuteness viled upon her inevitable tragic backstory give the viewers a sense of duty(same as Yoshida has) towards her.

Now, that’s the basic things you need to know before watching it. So, let’s get to the real question, is it worth it? The answer would be if you like RomComs this might end up in your top 5 lists. One issue of the anime, that may apply, is that early teenagers might find it boring, since as I previously stated, it relates more of being an adult. But it’s definitely worth a watch and deserves a lots of love.
